Vehicle Description For sale is a beautiful 1967 Buick Riviera, off white paint, plum interior with 48,084 original miles.
Almost everything works except for radio, lighter and clock.
A lot of work has gone into it bringing it back to almost original operating condition.
I have most the original equipment and parts that have been either upgraded or replaced with new parts and they will go with the car, including original rally rims and steel rims and hubcaps.
Recent work done to her includes, new heater core, 190 degree thermostat, highly efficient cold case aluminum radiator, high output electronic distributor, plugs and plug wires, timing and tuned ignition, rebuilt and tuned carburetor, electric kick-down shift module, steering wheel horn switches replaced, all front suspension bushings replaced, high density polyurethane sway bar/ pan hard bar bushings replaced, custom TA performance headers, mufflers and over-sized 2-1/2' dual exhaust pipes (2022), center support bearing on split driveshaft replaced (2022), new starter (October, 2023), all brake pistons rebuilt, new brake lines, converted to R134 air conditioning, transmission fluids flushed and replace, recent alignment, new whitewall tires, new battery (8/23).
All work done in the last 8,000 miles and withing the last three years.
I have saved most of the original equipment removed from the car that made sense to keep in the event the new owner would like to return it to original condition.
I have extra parts that will also go with the car, as I was planning on taking off the original vented, aluminum drums and preserving them (these drums alone are worth 3,000.
I have new cast-iron drums and brake shoes.
Additionally, I have lead conditioner and octane booster which I have been using on top of premium gas to run the high compression motor.
This will also go with the car.
In total about 14,000 has been spent on her besides many months waiting on parts and for old timers to repair the original equipment.
Everything runs and works as it should.
She drives straight and stops straight.
Most work done at San Tan Hot Rod, Sundance Auto in Phoenix, Trail Transmission in Apache Junction, and Network Automotive in Apache Junction.
All other work done by me.
This car uses straight SAE 30 Valvoline oil and zinc oil additive for engine lubrication.
Bodywork and paint is nearly perfect.
One location on the hardtop as well as the passenger rear quarter panel near the tail light is showing signs of some rust covered up during the repaint the car about 9'years ago.
She does need a few things to get her absolutely perfect, the AC needs to be charged and checked for leaks.
It only stays charged for about a month before noticing she's not cooling as well as she should.
Like many old cars she leaks a little oil and the rear main could be replaced.
Two shops said it was more trouble than it's worth.
She has a little lifter tapping when she is really hot.
The temperature gauge reads normal but there is some tapping under medium load.
None at low load and none at high load.
I have been told this is common with the Buick 430 high compression motors on hot days.
I took her in to have it checked by two shops.
It was determined that the engine could have the block's oil transfer shaft bored out an additional 1/8 for better flow to the passenger side lifters.
Again two shops advised against it as it isn't guaranteed that it would improve the situation.
She sits a lot and hasn't been driven much in the last year and she has a slight vibration at 75 mph.
None at 70 and it goes away at about 80 and up.
She has never been driven hard and she runs purrrrfect.
She's really fun to drive and needs a good home.
She drives like she did when she was new.
And has been well taken care of and pampered all of her life.
What makes this car so special? She's the nicest 1967 Buick Riviera within a thousand miles and she is mostly all original, just improved for reliability and the Arizona climate.
The interior seats are soft and plush, the chrome and aluminum trims are polished to mirror finish, she hasn't been driven in the rain in over 9 years and is only hand cleaned without the use of hoses or foam baths.
She is very well preserved for being 56 years old.
Come see her for yourself or I'll bring her to you within 75 miles of Apache Junction.
We have taken her on road trips in the mountains and grocery shopping on 105 degree days.
She never gets hot because of the over-sized radiator, which I researched for weeks before deciding on which radiator would work best in Arizona.
I hate to see her go but it's better if she found a new home.
I bought this car from its original owner in Minnesota who couldn't enjoy it anymore after his wife passed away and he was put into an assisted living home.
She turns heads and has people begging to find out if she's faster than their car when driving down the freeway.
She never disappoints.
You'd be hard pressed to find a better $32,500 investment anywhere.
